Can we open PDF files in nanoCAD?
PDF files are generated in two ways:
Raster PDF: PDF generated from scanned image.
Vector PDF: PDF generated from vector drawing applications like other CAD softwares.
In case of raster PDF it can be inserted as Underlays within the drawing.
Browse to the PDF file location of your hard disc and click on the Insert tab > Underlay then PDF to insert the PDF file.
Note: Apart from PDF you can insert other formats like .dwf, .stl, .sat, .x_t, .x_b, .wrt, .jges, .jgs, .step, .stp as underlays.
In case of Vector PDFs you can import them as drawing file.
Click on the nanoCAD Home button > Import > PDF browse to the PDF file location and select the PDF file to import.
Click on the Open button to open the selected PDF file.
Note: The PDF file thus imported will not be same as the original drawing. Some of the objects like dimensions and blocks which were there in actual drawing will appear in exploded form.
